Our supplier The Walters family has specialised in Traditional Christmas Turkeys for nearly 45 years. We visited the farm in November to see how this years rafter were coming along.
They produce the finest quality Christmas turkeys by carefully selecting slow growing breeds that reach full maturity naturally.
As you can see all their turkeys have plenty of space to run about in and enjoy natural daylight.
Their traditional white and free range bronze turkeys are fed on home grown cereal. This is all milled on the farm. No growth promoters are ever added to the food. This ensures their birds are full of flavour and very moist due to the traditional methods used to prepare the turkeys.
The organic turkeys are reared in exactly the same way on a local organic farm, and fed on high quality organic feed. They are one of the few Organic Turkey producers in the country that dry plucks them.
All of their turkeys are dry plucked and hand finished. They are then they are hung for at least 7 days to enhance their rich, gamey flavour.
