A proper breakfast bagel is hard to beat. Crispy bacon, good sausages, runny eggs and melted cheese, all stacked into one filling breakfast.

This recipe uses premium ingredients from our butchers. It’s a simple option for weekend brunch, feeding the family or upgrading your usual breakfast. 

Ingredients (Serves 2)

  • 2 bagels
  • 4 rashers of streaky bacon
  • 2 breakfast sausages
  • 2 free-range eggs
  • 2 slices of American or mature cheddar
  • Butter

Optional extras: hash browns, chilli jam or hot sauce.

Method

  1. Cook the sausages: Cook the sausages in a frying pan over a medium heat until browned and cooked through. Slice lengthways once cooked.
  2. Cook the bacon: Use the same pan to cook the bacon until crisp.
  3. Toast the bagels: Lightly butter the bagels and toast until golden.
  4. Fry the eggs: Cook the eggs to your liking. A runny yolk works well in a breakfast bagel.
  5. Assemble: Layer sausage, bacon, cheese and egg into the bagels. Add hash browns or chilli jam if you like.

Serve immediately.
